I've dedicated my 21-year career as a Sacramento County Prosecutor to making our homes, neighborhoods and schools safer by holding violent criminals accountable.

As a Superior Court Judge, I will treat everyone who enters my courtroom – victims, jurors, witnesses, defendants and attorneys - in a respectful, fair and equitable manner that ensures justice is served and the community protected. 

My experience includes: Sacramento County Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney in charge of Felony and Cold Case DNA Teams. I lead the successful prosecution of several major cold cases, including Joseph DeAngelo, the East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer. I was named Prosecutor of the Year in 2015 and awarded the Outstanding Victim Service Award in 2014. Additionally, I am a Law Professor and a volunteer coach for St. Francis High School Mock Trial Team and have served as Presiding Judge for the National Ethics Trial Competition.
